Claire's a high school cheerleader from Texas. She has the ability to heal
herself when she's injured. Her adoptive father Mr Bennet worked for The Company
who monitor people with special abilities. He adopted Claire after her mother
Meredith Gordon was apparently killed in a fire. Her biological father Nathan
Petrelli thought Claire was dead. But The Company gave her to Mr Bennet with the
proviso that he hand Claire over to The Company if she manifested any special
ability. However, he ended up trying to hide her from them. Claire has a key
role to play in Season 1 when Peter is given the cryptic instruction, "Save the
cheerleader, save the world." If Sylar had managed to kill Claire and take her
power of regeneration he would have been almost invincible.
In
Season 2 the Bennet's are living as the Butlers in California. They are on the
run from The Company and trying to keep a low profile. However Claire has just
met West and they have rather a lot in common. When Claire discovers that West
has met her dad, she's keen for them not to meet. However, the two do meet, and
after some scary flying stuff, they learn to trust each other. Then when H.R.G
is shot dead, Claire finally realises how much she cares for her dad. After his
memorial service Claire confronts Elle and tells of her grand plans to inform
the world about her amazing powers.

In Season 1, Hiro found
he had the ability to
manipulate space and
time, and teleported to
New York. He came across
a comic book called 9th
Wonders! in which he
appeared. Intrigued, he
went to see Isaac
Mendez, the artist, and
found him dead. Hiro was
arrested and discovered
he had travelled not
only through space, but
through time as well -
and was in the future.
Just as he discovered
this, he witnessed a
cataclysmic explosion.
Before the blast reached
him, Hiro jumped back in
time. Having had a
glimpse of the future,
Hiro decided that he
must save the world by
preventing the
explosion. Coming face
to face with his future
self, he learns Sylar
exploded and destroyed
the city. He had spent
the next five years
trying to work out the
exact moment in time he
needed to go back to, in
order to change history.
His future self
explained that he
stabbed Sylar but he had
regenerated as he'd
taken Claire's power. So
he realised the key to
saving the world was
saving the cheerleader.
At the end of Season 1,
with Claire safe, Hiro
managed to stab Sylar.
But before he collapsed,
Sylar hurled Hiro at a
building.
Season 2 picked up where
Hiro landed - in
17th-century Japan. He
had the unfortunate task
of turning Takezo Kensei,
a drunken Englishman,
into a hero worthy of
the tales. Living his
dream in feudal Japan,
Hiro fell in love with
Kensei's girl, Yaeko.
This threw a spanner in
the works and the two
friends soon became
bitter enemies. In the
middle of a fearsome
fight, just before the
gunpowder went off, Hiro
went to save Kensei, who
refused his help. Hiro
had to save his own life
and left Kensei for
dead. Hiro didn't
realise that Kensei's
power's could heal any
injury, and Kensei spent
the next four hundred
years seeking his
revenge. Now known as
Adam Monroe he was the
man responsible for
Kaito Nakamura's death.
Hiro had a score to
settle and imprisoned
Adam in Kaito's coffin
to live out his days.
Hiro starts Season 3 as
the man his dad chose to
guard a great family
treasure - a formula.
Within seconds of
finding the formula its
been stolen by The
Speedster. Hiro has a
new arch-nemesis and the
race is on to save the
world and save the
formula from getting
into the wrong hands.

Absorbs the powers of other Heroes
When
we first met him, Peter was a hospice nurse, but he soon realised his destiny
was to save the world. He's an empath and can absorb the abilities of other
super humans. His brother, Nathan, can fly and his mother, Angela, is from a
previous generation of heroes. When Isaac predicted an explosion in New York,
Peter was told that the key to averting the catastrophe was to save the
cheerleader - Claire. They believed Sylar would cause the explosion and that
there would be no way to stop him if he killed Claire and stole her power of
regeneration.
Peter and the other heroes managed to stop Sylar in the final showdown at the
end of Season 1, but it was Peter who caused the explosion - not Sylar. Peter
had already absorbed Ted's power and lost control of it. Just as Claire thought
she would have to shoot Peter to stop him, Nathan flew down, grabbed Peter and
disappeared into space with him. A huge explosion followed. It seemed unlikely
to those watching below that either brother could have survived.
Season
2 began and Peter was found alive but he wasn't in New York, he was in Cork,
Ireland. He discovered that Caitlin's brother, Ricky, had a box containing his
identity. After raiding the bank, Peter also discovered an American girl was
looking for him. Scared, Ricky sent Peter to Caitlin's appartment. In the
apartment he painted a futuristic picture of Montreal and then ended up taking a
trip there with Caitlin. He was heading into one hell of an adventure.
Leaving Caitlin stranded in the future, he met Adam. This guy soon gained
Peter's trust after saving his brother's life and the pair set out to save the
world. But Peter made the biggest mistake of his life. He soon came to his
senses though with a little help from his friends, and ended up destroying Virus
Strain 138.
Future Peter fired the
shot that killed Nathan in Season 3. He also cleverly trapped Peter in the body
of Jesse Murphy safely locked up in Level 5. Well that was until Elle let all
the prisoners out. Realising his mistake Angela tells Future Peter to get her
beloved son back. So Future Peter heads to the bank robbery and recovers Peter
from Jesse's body.

trouble, someone seems
to step in. She becomes
increasingly convinced
that her reflection in
the mirror has a mind of
its own.
Niki's twin sister Jessica might be dead, but she's there every time Niki
looks in the mirror.
Moreover, whenever
there's money to be made
and lives to be
taken, Jessica takes
over completely - with a
ferocity that borders on
the superhuman.

with his shadowy dealings as it is to do with his own special abilities.
But will being untouchable be enough to save him from the powerful
enemies he's made, or from his own wife's dark side?

Ability to paint the future
Isaac is an artist who lives in New York. He
has the ability to paint the future during precognitive trances
(primarily triggered by drugs). He also writes and
draws the
comic book '9th Wonders!' which similarly depicts future events.
Initially Isaac is romantically involved with Simone Deveaux. She tries
to encourage him to go into rehab but Isaac thinks he needs the drugs to
help him paint. Simone finds his refusal to give up the drugs and his
insistence that he can paint the future increasingly frustrating.

Matt is a Los Angeles police officer with
the ability to hear other people's thoughts. However he can't control
his telepathy so often hears everyone's thoughts
at once. He
feels inadequate next to his ambitious wife Janice after her latest
promotion and the couple have been going to marriage counselling. Matt
flunked his detective exams three times and his colleagues don't really
take him seriously.
When Matt makes an important discovery at a
crime scene and he can't explain how he did it, he comes under
suspicion. Telling people he can mind read
doesn't seem
like a sensible option at the time. But after proving his ability by
reading an FBI agent's mind in the interrogation room, he is offered a
position to assist in the investigation.

Mohinder is genetics professor at the University of Madras in India. He
discovers that his father has been killed and starts to believe that he
was murdered because of his theories
on human evolution. He heads to New York and tries to work out what
might have happened by searching through his father's research.
It becomes clear that people from all over the planet are developing
astounding and unnatural abilities, and the knowledge of their
whereabouts may well have got his father killed. Although Mohinder has
no superpowers of his own, he plays a key role in the lives of the
people who do.

"Mr. Bennet" or "the Man in Horn-Rimmed Glasses" is Claire's father. At
first glance he is a businessman, who works for the Primatech Paper
Company. He
clearly has some interest in
investigating superhuman phenomena but it's not clear at the start which
side he's really on.

Sylar is a serial killer who hunts super-powered individuals in order to
take their
abilities. His
real name is
Gabriel Gray and
he started out
as an ordinary
watchmaker.
Initially he had
a talent for
knowing how
things work
simply by
looking at them.
Clever, but not
the kind of
superpower he
dreamed of.
His mother always told him he was 'special' and he started to believe he
was destined for
greater things.
When Chandra
Suresh
approached him
and told
him about his
theories,
Gabriel at last
felt like his
destiny was
going to be
fulfilled. But
having run a
number of tests,
Chandra informed
him that he
found no
evidence of any
special
abilities.
Gabriel was
furious and
determined to
prove him wrong.
He contacted another subject from Chandra's list, killed him and stole his
telekinetic
ability. He then
went back to
Chandra and
demonstrated his
new-found
power. Chandra
was impressed
and continued
with the tests.
However, it
became clear
that the two
fell out at some
point resulting
in the tragic
consequences
that followed.
